I became interested in ceramics during my degree in Contemporary Design Crafts. I was drawn to the inherent characteristics of clay as a medium and the transformative processes within ceramics.
The materials associated with ceramics are my starting point. From here I work with ceramic processes to push at the boundaries of these materials and my own understanding. During the initial period of Covid-19 I found my own boundaries challenged by the constraints imposed by lockdown. This led me to look at alternative materials and ways of working, which in turn transformed my practice.
